I like to walk my clients dogs in groups and off the lead whenever possible for many reasons, I feel that its important for dogs to interact with other dogs just as humans like to interact with other humans, it helps them develop there confidence and social skills as many dogs don't have those kind of opportunities when living on there own without other dogs around them.

I never take on any dogs with aggression, this is important to me as most dogs are off leads, run and travel together so therefore aggressive dogs are not suited to these kind of group walks.

Please call if you think this service may be of some use to you and arrange a free home visit which gives you and your dog a chance to meet myself and go through the services provide in more detail.

About Me

In early 2006 I started my business 'The Sussex Dog Walker' offering dog walking services and home boarding as I realised that people lives were becoming more and more hectic and those suffering from illness and the elderly needed my help.

Having committed 15 years of my life to the oil rigs abroad I decided to share my love and passion of animals and change my lifestyle.
Now living near Battle with three dogs of my own which I have trained and worked I believe my passion has stemmed from here.
The local countryside and forestry commission has plenty of walks enabling me to provide a safe environment for which to walk dogs.

I am Police checked, insured and a key holder to many properties overcoming the problem of people working all day. It is also useful if the client is not able to get home due to unforeseen circumstances and need there dogs letting out/walking and feeding if necessary not forgetting how useful it can be should you get locked without a key which can happen to any one.

References are available on request, and can be shown at the time of home visit.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Mark has been walking our young Pug for about 7 months now, starting when Digby was just 8 months old, and the difference in his confidence and fitness is amazing!
We initially needed Mark to walk him odd days each week due to working shifts, but we soon realised how much the walks were benefitting Digby, and how grumpy he got when he didn’t have his Mark walks! We trusted Mark with his own key to our house from the start. Mark now walks Digby every weekday, even when we’re at home. Digby is fit, healthy, better behaved, really well socialised with other dogs (which being our only dog he would probably not have been if it weren’t for Mark) and he absolutely adores Mark.
We can not recommend Mark enough. He is reliable, consistent, accommodating and so friendly, and clearly loves his job and the dogs. For the amount of time and attention he gives to each dog on each walk he is amazing value for money too. We couldn’t ask for a better dog walker for Digby, it is so good to know that he is out with some one that we can not only trust but who genuinely enjoys being with him and who Digby loves in return. We are very grateful to Mark for everything that he has done for us so far…so here’s to many more walks with Mark!

My partner and I had considered having a dog for some time but due to work commitments did not think this would be possible. However through an advertisement & word of mouth I found someone who would be able to walk Indi on a daily basis.

Having enquired that Mark had the relevant registration and checks as advertised in the local paper we then arranged to meet Mark and introduce him to Indi. These check included C.R.B. & insurance details and most importantly our requirements where met.

After a trial period we have found Mark to be honest & trustworthy and he has built up a good relationship with Indi who is always pleased to see him. His rates & boarding fee’s are very reasonable. We have peace of mind knowing that if we go away on holiday Indi can board with Mark at his house and due to his popularity/demand he is now in the process of expanding this service.

I would highly recommend Mark to walk your dog and by being introduced to Mark it has entitled us to have Indi whilst being in full time employment.

Monty woofs with joy! He barges to the door and wiggles with glee – Mark is here!
An hour or so later, he returns, passively submitting to Mark de-mudding him. Then he bounds off to play with his ball, still bursting with enthusiasm.
His manners and obedience are continually improving and he thoroughly enjoys the company of the other dogs.
AND – WOOFFE – there’s another walk tomorrow!

I have been using Mark to walk my dog for a year and during this time, I have been extremely satisfied with the service he provides.
When you are away from home all day, it gives you peace of mind knowing that Rolo will get a great walk and that in an emergency Mark will go back and ensure that he is fed and let out in the garden or re-walked.

I write with gratitude to thank you for the individual attention you bestowed upon my Boston Terrier Toby over this year.
When I initially engaged your services, I was a little disturbed at Toby’s reluctance to go out with you: however, as we both observed, this behaviour was shortly transformed into great excitement and eagerness at 8:30 each weekday walking morning when he heard your vehicle arrive!
From my various conversations with you, I have realised that you you have a great interest in, and affection for, dogs and I would be happy to recommend any dog owner to your very individual services.
Toby looks forward to seeing you again soon.

My husband and I both currently commute into London for work. Mark comes to walk our dog Rufus every weekday and we trust him with a key to let himself in. He’s very professional, clearly loves dogs and is a cheerful, friendly guy.
It gives us great peace of mind to know that Rufus isn’t home alone all day.

Mark has been walking and boarding my Labrador for over a year. From the very start he has had a key for my house to collect and drop off Freddie and has always been completely reliable and trustworthy.
Mark obviously enjoys his job and treats all the dogs he walks and boards as he would his own and they obviously have a great time when with him.
The service Mark provides is invaluable – excellent value for money – a happy dog – peace of mind. Thanks Mark.

Since my husband and I are both disabled we found we couldn’t give our Field Spaniel, Homer the exercise he needed. We contacted Mark “The Sussex Dog Walker” to see if he could help out. We found him to be polite, professional and very helpful.

Our dog goes out in the morning for a couple of hours and comes back full of the joys of spring. He not only gets on well with Mark and the other dogs he now has more of a spring to his step and is healthier in mind and soul.

We starting using Mark as a walker for our lively working cocker when our first baby arrived. He has been fantastic with her and she adores him. One of our regrets about our house move is that we will no longer see Mark as often - we would trust him with any dog and he is completely reliable, always on time, and has relieved us of all guilt about not being able to walk our dog these last few months. He is also an exceptionally decent man. We recommend Mark without reservation and would be happy to speak to anyone considering using his dog walking or boarding service. We would definitely use him again, and will be boarding our dog with him when we go away.

Mark has been in Bonnie's life since she was 6 months old (now 11 years old), Bonnie enjoys going out into the forest with her pack of friends which Mark has carefully selected for her to go out with, as she is a very gentle soul. Mark is the only person I trust to look after my dogs when going on holiday. So, if you are looking for a trustworthy, responsible and caring person to walk or kennel your dogs, I would recommend Mark every time.
